Emily Wyner

Engagement Manager

Emily is a skilled facilitator and communicator who finds joy and meaning in building capacity with and within mission-driven leaders and organizations. She spent her early professional years in women’s and public health, leading change initiatives across 200+ community-facing programs at a large public health institute. As an organizational development consultant, Emily then supported numerous individuals and groups across sectors. She led a successful $1.29 million capital campaign for a start-up community owned grocery store; designed and facilitated multi-stakeholder visioning sessions for arts and community organizing groups; and offered leadership development programs for doctors, small business owners, and social services providers.

Emily holds a master's in organizational development and leadership from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where her capstone work focused on how to use applied improv to build psychological safety in groups and teams. She is also a trained coach through the ICF-accredited Co-Active Training Institute and holds a bachelor's in anthropology from Tufts University as well as a certificate in applied positive psychology from The Flourishing Center.

A queer Jew with race and class privilege, Emily believes in and fights for a world rooted in interdependence and care. Outside of KONU, she is a member leader with Resource Generation and an adjunct faculty member at Temple University, where she teaches courses in community development and nonprofit management. She believes deeply in the power of relationship and collective wisdom, and loves creating environments where we can bring our honest, full, best selves – and helping others do the same.
